In risk management, we’re trained to anticipate, calculate, and prevent. But in life — both personal and professional — I’ve learned that too much control can quietly turn into anxiety dressed as productivity.

There’s a fine line between being aware of what’s happening and trying to micromanage everything — especially when uncertainty is constant. Mindfulness, for me, isn’t about running simulations in my head 24/7. It’s about noticing when I’m planning from clarity — and when I’m planning from fear. Even the best mitigation plans don’t replace presence. And sometimes, being present with a complex situation is the most strategic thing we can do.

Have you ever felt the difference?
