The biggest shift in my DevSecOps journey wasn’t learning a new tool. It was learning how everything connects. Over the past few months I’ve been building a practical DevSecOps platform. At first, every tool looked independent: • Trivy scanned containers. • KICS analyzed Kubernetes and IaC. • Vault managed secrets. • Grafana visualized metrics. • GitHub Actions automated everything. But the more I learned, the more I realized that each tool only solves one piece of a much larger problem. Understanding Linux namespaces changed how I interpret container security. Building Grafana dashboards changed how I think about security observability. Receiving feedback from experienced security engineers changed how I design security pipelines. Now I’m no longer asking: “Which tool should I learn next?” I’m asking: “How do these technologies work together to build a secure software delivery process?” That’s a completely different mindset. The more I learn, the more I realize that DevSecOps isn’t about collecting tools. It’s about understanding the system behind them. What’s one concept that completely changed the way you think about DevOps or Security? #DevSecOps #CyberSecurity #Linux #Docker #Kubernetes #Grafana #GitHubActions #continuouslearning
