Clarity is a leadership skill
One of the most underrated leadership skills is clarity.
Not having all the answers.
Not speaking the most in the room.
But making sure people leave a conversation knowing:
- what matters most; - what decision was made; - who owns what; - what happens next.
A surprising amount of organizational friction isn’t caused by lack of talent or effort.
It’s caused by ambiguity.
And ambiguity is expensive.
It creates duplicated work, slower decisions, unnecessary meetings and priorities that compete with each other.
The higher you go in an organization, the more valuable clarity becomes.
Good leaders don’t just manage complexity. They make complexity easier for others to navigate.
