Начал с arXiv.org.
Does commercially available order-flow data predict the cross-section of Russian equity returns, and can the prediction be monetized? We audit both questions for the 100 most liquid Moscow Exchange stocks using five-minute order-book, order and trade statistics from the exchange’s AlgoPack data, under a protocol that fixes hypotheses and thresholds before outcomes are read, builds the universe point-in-time, purges overlapping labels, and benchmarks results against permutation placebos and mechanism-free controls. The exchange regenerated its 2020–2024 history; only records written within 30 days of the trade date enter a verdict, and real-time ICs are 28–46% below their values on regenerated rows. On a real-time window (January 2025–October 2026, 457 trading days), a regularized composite of 75 order-flow features predicts 10-day abnormal returns with a mean daily rank IC of 0.096 (Newey–West t = 5.87), 0.037 above a single-feature baseline (95% interval 0.015–0.066), with placebos at zero. We claim a predictive signal, not alpha, and state three limits. Value beyond 12-month momentum is not established: momentum alone reaches an IC of 0.094–0.107 on the same window. The economic evidence is inconclusive: the pre-specified book earns 0.075% per day with a 95% interval that includes zero, its gross return comes almost entirely from the short leg, and that leg rests on a borrow fee that was never observed and on short availability that was not recorded. And the real-time window had been used by earlier tests of the same program. Of 46 research directions, 36 failed their pre-specified criteria. The firm contributions are the point-in-time audit and the documented provenance hazard, not a trading strategy. Code, plans, run logs and model hashes are public.
